Varietyquestioned Olivia during a Jan. 23 red carpet interview about her views on what Gen Z fails to comprehend about *** prior to the debut of Greg Araki's ****** thriller,I Want Your ***,and this is what she stated:
I believe Generation Z is quite intelligent," Olivia remarked. "I would never feel confident enough to claim they lack understanding. I think they grasp a great deal more than the rest of us.
Acknowledging that she isn't fully certain about the origin of the theory, she remarked, "It's intriguing. I believe that the depiction of *** in movies over many years hasn't been very authentic."

"I believe there has been a shift towards authenticity, which is positive, so I interpret that statistic as Gen Z expressing, 'We no longer want to see inauthenticity. We desire real connections and experiences that feel more genuine,' " Olivia mentioned.
Numerous supporters voiced their approval and commended Olivia's reaction to a "topic that frequently leads to tedious debates."
However, naturally, Olivia's remarks sparked a discussion regarding the true reason why Generation Z is not interested in seeing *** in films and television. "All those individuals who claim that the younger generation doesn't enjoy/understand ***... it simply shows they have no idea about the young generation," one person stated.

"They claim they desire less, but in truth, they want less pointless content that's included solely for the sake of shock. That's why HR is taking the actions it is, as the content and the dramatic elements are genuine and make sense within the narrative," someone else wrote.
To that end, another individual mentioned that Gen Z's dislike of *** inpop culturebecause producers are lazy and lack skill and imagination. They include *** scenes and violence just to shock the ***-brained viewers enough to keep them watching. Some of us desire quality storytelling, not cheap shocks. And I haven't seen a single film where a ********* was essential.
This individual stated, "I somewhat disagree with this response because I believe that intimacy and authenticity without a humorous fix is what causes Gen Z to dislike explicit scenes. They struggle with feeling uncomfortable, and the more intimate it becomes, the more uneasy they get."
You know what I realized while watching this? Gen-Z doesn't NEED *** in films," another person commented. "There’s *** everywhere. You can easily catch *** in passing these days. The way older generations relate to *** in media is different because we didn't actually have the same level of exposure to it as Gen-Z.

Finally, this person stated, "I understand her perspective, but I don't believe that's the case. They're purists! They don't want explicit content in films because they feel it doesn't contribute to the storyline, which is a remarkably outdated opinion coming from young people."
Olivia is starring in I Want Your ***beside Cooper Hoffman as a "sexually confident artist," according to Variety. Talking about the movie, Olivia remarked, "It's an extraordinary irrelevant perspective on this aspect of the ****** revolution of a young individual."
