Somerset Minerals (ASX:SMM)is deploying teams to investigate a major irregularity at the Coppermine project in Canada, with a 3,000-metre diamond drilling initiative coming after receiving strong outcomes from recent regional geophysical and geochemical surveys in late-CY25, which identified several top prospects.

Numerous hidden exploration targets identified through the aerial gradiometer magnetic survey and initial glacial till geochemical study showed significant copper anomalies aligned with demagnetized magnetic areas.
A key finding – which Somerset is currently investigating further – is the Talisker corridor. It includes a highly unusual and very intense approximately 17km-long overlapping geochemical and geophysical anomaly, and Talisker has now been classified as Somerset's top regional priority.
Talisker is approximately five kilometers from White Cliff Minerals' main Danvers deposit and has been understood to link to the same fault, according to the company.
"These findings represent a significant shift for Somerset, with several new hidden police objectives now established," said Chris Hansen, Somerset MD, today.
He added: “The geochemical and geophysical data have performed precisely as intended, delivering reliable spatial data that enables us to explore beneath the surface, and narrowing our search area from more than 1,600 square kilometers down to a more targeted region within less than six months.”
Four out of the 10 samples collected from the Talisker corridor had around 1,000 parts per million (ppm) of copper, with one sample reaching a high of 3,790 ppm.
"Observing such figures in an initial regional program, within regions with little to no exposed rock and limited past exploration, is highly promising and highlights our belief that significant copper systems could be hidden under shallow cover throughout the wider area," Mr Hansen stated to shareholders.
We currently have a newly discovered extensive copper presence in the correct geological location, located beneath a thin layer of cover, which has never been subjected to drilling.
Somerset has engaged a geophysical service provider to begin IP surveys in March; it is exploring specific infill survey techniques to generate more detailed data sets for drillhole planning set for May CY26.
SMMis currently valued at 5.8cps following a rise of almost +6%.
