Horror fans have been eagerly consuming the spin-off series based on the highly-praised TheSilence of the Lambs after it landed on Amazon Prime Video.
The 13-episode CBS show, Clarice, takes place one year after the events of the 1991 film The Silence of the Lambs, which featuredJodie FosterClarice collaborates with the psychopath Hannibal Lecter to identify the serial killer known as Buffalo Bill.
The 2021 series features FBI agent Clarice Starling (played by Rebecca Breeds in this version) as she re-enters the male-focused environment, deals with PTSD, and hunts down serial killers once more.
Now available to a new audience on Amazon Prime, the series climbed into the top 10 chart in the UK and has remained there for two weeks and continues.
Its resurgence is not surprising given how influential its predecessor remains today.
Not only did The Silence of the Lambs win fiveAcademy Awardsin the most significant genres, but it has been extensively praised as one of the 'greatest horror films ever'.
IMDb user Calicodreamin described the series as 'disappointing'. 'The narratives are fragmented and the secondary plots or detours are not needed and take away from the main content,' they mentioned.
User Lizshotter stated it 'fails at every obstacle' and justinfensack remarked it was 'nothing remarkable'.
Supporters will need to determine individually whether it measures up to the film it is associated with or if they prefer it on its own. No matter where you stand, you'll need to appreciate the first season as there are no further ones planned.
In an interview with Dazed, lead actress Rebecca expressed her initial bond with and admiration for the original work.

The movie is very famous, but I was too scared to see it! I'm not really into horror films.
But one evening it was on television, so I sat down with my father to watch it. I was scared but also captivated. I appreciated how clever it was.
It's the movie that showed me the distinction between a shock horror film and a psychological thriller. I'm not sure how many films have managed to do it like *The Silence of the Lambs*.the Australian actor said.
Regarding her interpretation of the famous fictional character, she stated: 'I aimed to portray trauma honestly and I realized it would require a significant amount from my own life to get it right. However, another part of me was eager to jump into this.'
