My objectives for 2026 involve preparing more dishes and consuming a broader range of fruits and vegetables.
However, upon reviewing my fridge arrangement, I realized that if I want to become more organized and make better use of the space for fruits and vegetables instead of relying solely on the crisper drawer, I will need some additional items.
That's because at the moment, my fridge organization system only includes one container to place frozen meat in so it can thaw without dripping onto other items.
To bring my idea of a fridge full of vibrant fruits and vegetables to life, I explored Kmart's latest fridge storage collection and discovered some excellent items.
The four-section refrigerator storage containeris $10 and includes a handle on the lid for simple movement from the fridge to the workbench or even to the barbecue or dining area.
I intend to use this for meal preparation as the compartments are ideal for keeping diced and grated vegetables separate until it's time to mix them. The convenient holes at the bottom of each section allow me to rinse everything just before combining to ensure the ingredients remain extra fresh.
But at the moment, I have it arranged with fruits and vegetables for snacking.

The 2.5L fridge storage containerIt costs $10 and is the ideal size for baby cos lettuce, and I will definitely use it for that occasionally. It's also a suitable size for a small bunch of grapes.
I currently have navel oranges in this container. I don't always keep oranges in the refrigerator, but during summer and when the humidity is high, I notice they go bad more quickly in a fruit bowl. Also, a cold orange on a hot day is one of life's simple joys.
I also took up the6L fridge storage containerfor $12 and intend to add any vegetables that are required for a particular recipe so they are all in one place and ready to use.
The outstanding feature of this container is the ability to wash the contents within it and then let the water drain through the valve located at the base. Additionally, there is an air vent that allows for managing the flow of air in and out of the container.
Currently, I have the grapes in the container instead of keeping them in the original bag and losing track of them because they are hidden from view.
If you're looking for a choice that includes more fruits and vegetables, there is thetwo-section refrigerator storage containerfor $13. It measures 14.5cm in height, 31cm in width, and 24cm in depth.
The last new refrigerator storage item I bought is the fridge storage set for $25.
It features four variously sized containers that can all be stored inside the largest one when not needed.
This is another alternative that's ideal for meal preparation using one of the smaller containers which has three compartments. It's perfect for storing chopped vegetables when a recipe only requires a small quantity of specific ingredients.
This identical container is also great for keeping fruit organised for the day, and it's convenient to place the container in your work bag or eat directly from it at home.
A medium-sized container in this set is ideal for preparing lettuce leaves that can be rinsed when required.
As I usually cook for just one person, I'll primarily use the big container to store the three smaller ones, but when I need to prepare a meal to take to a barbecue or picnic, I can imagine the larger one being really useful.
Now that my refrigerator is well-stocked and organized, I'm prepared to begin working towards my goals for this year.
Now all I have to do is start preparing the meal.
