EXCLUSIVE: Chris Pratthas portrayed a guardian of the galaxy in Marvel'sAvengersfranchise, a wildlife expert in aJurassicfollow-up and, in his latest filmMercy, he is a police officer facing trial for the murder of his wife in an AI courtroom.
But the The Super Mario Bros. and Garfield startells nine.com.au that his children will not be watching the new series – or any of his earlier films – for a long while.
And that's because of his father-in-lawArnold Schwarzenegger.
Watch the video above.
A father of four has three children with his wife.Katherine Schwarzenegger – Arnie and ex-wife Maria ShriverThe eldest child - and it was one of Katherine's scheduled visits as a child that established the pattern, Pratt explains.
"My wife is extremely careful about revealing anything to them," he admits to nine.com.au.London.
Her father was the Terminator, and she once went to visit him on set when his face was, sort of, half melted and it was a bit upsetting for her.

So she is very cautious about what the children are allowed to watch. And my three youngest haven't seen anything I've done so far.
Pratt quips that as soon as his wife, who has been married to him for six years, leaves the house, he's eager to begin showing them to his daughters Lyla, aged five, Eloise, three, and son Ford, who is 14 months old.
"I'm waiting for her to, you know, take a trip and I'll just show him the entire movie series," he laughs.
His eldest son, Jack, 13 – who he co-parents with his ex-wifeAnna Faris– is the one who has an understanding of what Dad does and is someone Pratt usually calls via video from the set.
"I will do that from time to time," he says, acknowledging that he's somewhat similar to hisMercycharacter Chris Raven in this manner, with the detective contacting his daughter during his murder trial in the thriller.
Occasionally my kids aren't fond of it.
So, I need to be careful if I'm, you know, covered in blood and have wild hair and wigs and all that, because they might not realize what my job is, and why does Daddy look like this?
But I'll sometimes call my son with some of these expressions, and he says, 'Wow!'
Pratt acknowledges that mistakes have occurred in the past unintentionally.
I recently completed something on season two ofThe Terminal List"where, when I called them, they said, 'Dad, are you OK?!'" he shares with nine.com.au.

I said, 'Oh right, no, this isn't real. Don't worry, dear.'
Although his father-in-law may have disrupted Pratt's intentions to introduce his children to his films at an early age, the Hollywood actor mentions to nine.com.au that he enjoys being able to discuss business with the 78-year-old movie legend.
"I occasionally seek his insights, which is truly a gift I possess, as he offers a distinctive view of the world," Pratt mentions.
And there aren't many individuals in my life who can understand some of the experiences I have, which is truly pleasant.

Although Pratt mentions he didn't rely on the former 'Governator of California' for this position, which examines how the legal system might appear in the near future as AI becomes more involved in society, he still consults him for general guidance.
"I do, I discuss roles," he says to nine.com.au.
I discuss this promotional tour. I met him three days ago, and we were discussing this along with my future plans. He has a very distinctive viewpoint and was also an exceptional marketer for his films.
So I occasionally say to him, 'Well, when you were working on that film, how did you deal with this?' And he offers me excellent guidance.
Mercy, featuring Rebecca Ferguson in a supporting role, is now showing in Australian movie theaters.
