Police got several reports following the filming of dozens of young e-bike riders crossing the Sydney Harbour Bridge yesterday.
Approximately 40 individuals, with at least one person not wearing a helmet, crossed the NSW landmark during rush hour traffic on Tuesday.
According to existing regulations, it is against the law to cycle, including electric bikes, on the primary deck of the bridge, with a dedicated path available apart from the main road.
The NSW Police stated that officers responded to Hickson Road in Sydney around 4:30 pm yesterday after receiving several reports about a big group riding in a hazardous way.
Approximately 40 cyclists were found riding on the Harbour Bridge in a risky manner but scattered upon the arrival of police.
A police representative stated to Info.au, 'A chase could not be commenced because of safety issues.'

Approximately 5:30pm on the same day, authorities found the group at Mrs Macquarie's Chair and spoke with them before dispersing them.
No injuries or property damage were reported, with investigations still underway.
Videos showing the Harbour Bridge stunt have led to increased demands for stricter regulations controlling e-bike usage on Australian roads and walkways.
Premier Chris Minns described the behavior of e-bike offenders as "unacceptable" and the government is developing a response.
"It's unfortunate that the initial choice was to use a 500 watt output instead of a 250 watt one, as we now find ourselves in a position where we're attempting to secure the barn door after nearly a million of these devices are already on Sydney's streets," he stated.

Shadow Minister for Transport Natalie Ward stated that restrictions on power levels are insufficient.
"Joy rides on the Sydney Harbour Bridge are foolish, dangerous and an insult to the police and the public," she stated in Parliament yesterday.
"These kids know they are unaccountable and untouchable until there is compulsory licence plates, enforcement and accountability."
She mentioned that e-bike riders who are acting improperly are aware there are no repercussions and urged Transport Minister John Graham to implement e-bike registration plates to bring back responsibility.
